Renowned across the country for its open network, the Five College consortium offers students a virtually unprecendented access to information, technology, and courses. Any student enrolled in one school is offered the opportunity to take courses at any of the five institutions in the valley––Smith College, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Students are not only afforded the opportunity to study at the various schools, but also take advantage of five libraries, art museums, and their vast and varying collections of texts, films, media, music, and art. As well, for students enrolled in courses at the various campuses (or in a particular Five College Major) have access to the technology, computer resources and various shops and equipment for their design and expressive needs.
